Game of Thrones = Unpredictable deaths!
What do we say to the God of Death?
Not today.

Well, I guess most Game Of Thrones characters didn’t pay attention to Syrio Forel.
The air is abuzz with fans discussing theories and re-watching episodes of Game Of Thrones, eagerly waiting for the 8th season. Well, the long wait is finally over! But we still anticipate whether George R.R. Martin will kill our favourite Game of Thrones characters or not(or what’s remaining of them), after all, he is known for crushing our dreams. However, there are some deaths that the fans immensely enjoyed (cough* Joffrey*cough* Ramsay* cough). Tragic or satisfying, these deaths have made GOT one of the greatest T.V. shows ever made. So, let’s take a look at some of the most memorable deaths in the series.
(BONUS ALERT! – Play the audio below to feel the chills of Game Of Thrones while reading the post)
6. Joffrey Baratheon

Born of the incestuous relationship between Cersei and Jamie Lannister, Joffrey was, undoubtedly, the most hated character in Game of Thrones (i.e. until we met Ramsay Bolton). His death may not have been the most satisfying one but was surely the most awaited one. Poisoned by Olenna Tyrell, Joffrey died a painful death at his own wedding. Although, my preferred way of killing him would have been by chopping his mean beastly being body into tiny pieces rather than poisoning and giving him an easy death.
5. Walder Frey
Killed by Arya Stark, Frey’s death was utterly satisfying. Arya enters the dining hall to serve him a pie which, she later reveals, is made from his sons and just when he is about to flee, she slits his throat, coining the phrase,”Leave one wolf alive and the sheep are not safe.” Well, Arya has always made us proud! Serves him right for being responsible for The Red Wedding.

4. Ramsay Bolton
Obsessed with killing innocents, Ramsay deserved a brutal death. This bastard killed his father Roose Bolton, stepmother and baby brother amongst others like Rickon Stark and Osha. Having tortured Sansa to terrifying extents, Ramsay deserved to be locked in his kennels and eaten alive by his hungry hounds. His death was Sansa’s moment of victory, the moment we knew that Arya, Olenna and Dany aren’t the only badass women in Westeros.

3. Jon Snow
Ok, he was revived later. But a part of him did die. Almost everyone at Castle Black including Alliser Thorne and Olly had stabbed Jon Snow after labelling him as a traitor for his thoughts about saving the Wildlings. But thanks to Melisandre, Jon came back to life, hanged those who had stabbed him and left Castle Black, declaring that his Watch had ended. I never liked Olly but Jon did brace himself before beheading the kid who he had once trusted. First, he killed Ygritte and then stabbed Jon. I think Olly deserved what he got. But if it weren’t for this stabbing, the show might not have taken the course it has today.

2. Eddard “Ned” Stark
The Tenth episode of the First Season. The episode which made us realize that this show is capable of shocking us in numerous ways. Ned was one of the most honourable Game of Thrones characters we’ve come across. A man of his word and an influential personality, his death changed the lives of his daughters, Sansa and Arya, and made them the characters we love today.

1.Hodor
We’ll always remember the death of this sweet giant. His undaunted loyalty, even in his last moments, is awe-spiring. His tragic death was destined his whole life right from the moment when Bran wargs into Hodor (in order to get him to wake up and escape the White Walkers) while he is still observing the past. Young Hodor ( his name was Walder) starts repeating the phrase,” Hold the Door” while Bran tells the Present-day Hodor to hold the door and thus, while repeating, “Hold the door” becomes “Hodor”, the only word Hodor uses after this incident in his childhood.

Well, that was my list of memorable deaths. Of course, in a show like Game Of Thrones, there are always more deaths to remember like those of Oberyn Martell, Shireen Baratheon, Tywin Lannister and the ill-fated Starks in the Red Wedding.
Poll Time!

The eighth season has finally arrived and I can’t wait to see it. The Wall is finally broken and so is the boundary that kept the people of Westeros safe. The Night King’s intentions may not be clear as of yet but the fear he arouses certainly is.

Feel the chills? Who doesn’t.

I agree with it👍
Thank you for reading!
Nice👍
Glad you like it!
My husband and I were just wondering who was going to get bumped off this final season. And we’re guessing that it will be a lot of them! Loved this whole series and can’t believe they’re going to wrap it up in only 7 more episodes. 🙂
I know, right? I think there are going to be only six episodes in the eighth season. Can you imagine that after a few weeks the whole show will be over? Of course, Game Of Thrones will be watched by the generations to come. But still, I wished there had been more seasons. And less deaths!
Great work.
