Captioning Photographs

Captioning Photographs

Pre-Script: If you're a writer and you've got friends who do photography or, well, post any kinda posts you've heard this: "Bhai is photo pe caption dede" Translation: Bro, give me a caption for this photograph. A few months ago, I did this:- Jokes apart, the sole reason I do it is, I get a good subject to write upon. So, it's kinda a thank you note to those photographers who have given me such great subjects to write upon. The amount of amazing shots that I've seen, inspired me to try photography myself. (Obviously on my phone, I'll show it to you, soon.) Here are two of the recent photos that I wrote a caption for and they've left me perplexed! They've perfect lighting, The perfect feel and the perfect message. Please make sure you see the amazing instagram feed of these photographers and I assure you, the job of blowing your mind will be done by their work. My first love — Diary

My first love — Diary

Dear Diary, It's funny how I always write in you but never for you. And it's surprising how you never complain while I fill your pages with the nonsensical jumble of words. All that belong to my unshaped thoughts and claim to call it a "draft". No matter how much I revise a draft to make it perfect, the one inside you will always be it's purest form. Just like our bond. You know the secrets of my wild times and the rants of my sad nights, also the time when I fell, and the time when I rose high. You live in a shelf, hidden from the world but today I'll make sure you're known. Your flawless cover is now adorned with my name and the favorite fandoms but I know you are "you" at heart. And that's what makes me trust you with my poems and the plots. And honestly, if it weren't you with me everywhere I went, my thoughts would always stay a thought. So thank you...

Guardian Angels

Guardian Angels

I remember the time I was afraid to face the world. It was them who held me close, like a shield and we faced it together. I remember the time when I was afraid to tumble. It was them who held my hand & taught me to walk. I remember the time I felt like the water would drown me. It was them who held me in the deep waters and taught me to swim. I remember the time when I was afraid to meet new people at school. It was them who told me how important a friend is in our life. I remember the time when I was afraid my birthday gift wouldn't be good enough. It was them who saved for months and surprised me with the unexpected. I remember how sad I was when my first friend left me. It was them who gave me strength to endure the future. I remember how sad I was when I almost flunked a major year, It was them who provided me...

The Imperfect Mystery — Me

The Imperfect Mystery — Me

A little piece to the Imperfect Mystery of my life. He was a mystery, or maybe he just wanted to be one. In the world full of chimeric perfection, he was nowhere. He was flawed, so flawed that he’d be hanged if imperfection was a felony. Of course, he wasn’t that lucky. Growing up as a mediocre and being reminded about it every morning in the hallways of his school, he knew he didn’t belong there. Amidst the fake smiles, fake promises and real envy. All he wished for, back then, was an escape. An escape from the misery, from the embarrassment of being himself and from the very own reality he lived in. Nevertheless, there was one thing he liked about being the way he was— his subconscious. The part of his intellect that showed to him the sacred and the happy worlds of imagination. A world where he was perfect. Perfect not because he had perfectly aligned teeth and a fashionable dressing sense but because...

Illuminating darkness.

Darkness Robert's mind wandered around his deadline, even while he rested his head on the glass window. He had to complete a week's work in just one night. And the train was an hour away from home. If he had a list of things he hated, it'll only be 4 words long.  Rescheduled Deadlines. Late trains. "Dear, what's the next station?" The woman next to him gave a mild shock. It wasn't everyday that the commuters talked to each other and she didn't seem like a daily commuter, either. Robert had a look outside the glass pane and turned to her, "Wolfshire. Where do you have to get down?" "Wolfshire." She smiled sheepishly and fetched dark glasses from her purse and placed them neatly over her nose. "Guess I should get going." She stood up but the train's jerk pushed her back down. "What happened?" Her expressions confused, just like Robert's. "Think the train doesn't want you to go, just yet." He...

Announcements & Much more.

Greetings fellow bloggers and readers! I'm very excited to announce that Occult of Strigoikirk is about to end in the next 2 episodes! But due to the hectic submissions--an engineering student is tortured with-- that are to be done, I will be posting the Tenth part in the middle of the week and the Finale on the scheduled Saturday. Hope you guys understand! Also, the guest post for today has been delayed due to the same reasons. The brilliant writer who was going to do a guest post is, (un/)fortunately, an engineering student as well. So, next week is going to be one interesting week for The Honest Fabler. And how can I forget THF has reached an amazing number of 604 following bloggers + 1630 Facebook followers + 23 Email followers = 2257 total followers! Now that calls for another party since we're not even 4 months old yet! Best wishes to everyone for the upcoming week and don't forget to stay tuned. Be happy and...

Donating happiness

"Sorry miss, your disease is infectious. You cannot donate blood." The nurse at the blood donation camp told her. "Beta, why did you cut your waist long hair?" Asks her mom, now that she's home. But she only smiles to herself, thinking about the cancer patient she made happier. Well, blood isn't the only donation, is it? ©The Honest Fabler ©Cover credits- Google Images...

Painting smiles.

Painting smiles.

"You've a cute smile, hope you have a great day." He told the bald girl who sat next to him on the bus & walked away. Kind words were all he said, but inside her they ignited a higher sense of pride about winning the battle against cancer. PS- This is something I witnessed on a bus, last year. She told him about her battle against cancer and he congratulated her. Once the man got down, the girl kept smiling to herself for a long time.  Thought it's worth sharing! ©The Honest Fabler ©Cover credits- Ashutosh Gursale...

Waking up “Gratified”

Waking up “Gratified”

I don't know how to thank you people enough for even reading what I write. I'm a little shaky, overwhelmed by gratefulness. I started writing the blog exactly a month ago. It was technically because whatever I wrote on social medias, no one noticed it. Which was obvious since not many people knew I write. This blog, oh this blog!, it's the place where my write ups got an exposure, they've found home. Even if many people didn't read it, I would had continued to write since I didn't even imagine anyone would like it. That would had been a possible outcome, but the one that is real seems very unreal! From the last month, the followers have reached from 0 to 205(6 email followers) and 42 countries other than India have read it. This is the most wonderful thing I woke up to, this morning. I believe this wasn't only the outcome of my writings, it was because of the marvelous positive feedback from everyone....
